Online Conference: Design, Simulation and Optimization of Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vesse, COPV

Abstract:

Filament winding is an automated fabrication process for producing composite structures where fibers are wound onto a rotating mandrel. This technique become a leading technology in producing high pressure composite vessels.

Today, filament winding engineering requires to face upcoming challenges of high cost / high value applications like for instance mass-production for hydrogen passenger vehicles or weight optimization for spaceships propulsion systems.

In this presentation, we suggest an integrated approach to design, simulate and optimize a pressure vessel using Abaqus/FEA and WoundSim software, a new generation tool to design and simulate composite overwrapped pressure vessels.

S VERTICAL:

A services and solutions provider company specialized on high quality mechanical engineering. Leveraging industry proven methods and experienced team members, S VERTICAL puts together clear and concise custom simulation tools focused on enhancing customers productivity. Today, S VERTICAL is focused on the development of WoundSim software, a new generation tool to design and simulate composite overwrapped pressure vessels (COPVs).

WoundSim can be considered as the replacement solution of WCM SIMULIA Abaqus plugin.

Presenter Bio:

Amine has 12 years’ experience in numerical simulation and design methodologies development. After 5 years spent within Dassault Système SIMLIA center of excellence in France, where he was training and supporting customers to use SIMULIA software packages and specifically the Abaqus Wound Composite Modeler, he joined S VERTICAL company and become a development and education partner of Dassault Systèmes.

Amine is now exclusively working as the product manager of WoundSim software co-developed by S VERTICAL in France and QustomApps in US.
